update

Sorry I haven't been writing on here. The internet service isn't very good so I usually spend my limited time on the internet responding to emails or talking to people on AIM and Skype. Here's some post about what's been going on the past few weeks. I'll put up more post soon about my classes, living in Florence and the trips I've taken to Venice and Rome.
In less than an hour I'll be on my way to Interlaken, Switzerland with Courntey and Lindsay! I'm so excited. They apparently just got 3 feet of snow so the conditions are excellent for skiing! We're also going to go night sledding.
Today was freezing in Florece. It was very windy and we even got a few snow flurries!

First Day in Italia

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I got here safely. The plane ride was nice and smooth. there ended up being 7 of us going to Florence and we had a small plane coming from Munich to Florence that was mostly students. our luggage didn't make it onto our connecting flight but it should be here on the next flight in from Munich.
I got all checked in and made it to my apartment ok. Its a lot different than I expected. I'm not exactly sure how to discribe it but I'll take pictures of it soon. it's all the way up on the 4th floor and it was a hike to get up there. I was sweating just carrying my carry on and backpack. should be interesting once i have to carry my luggage up. it took me a good 5 minutes to figure how to get into the apartment lol. hopefully I have it down now though.
I met one of my roommates, Ali she seems really nice.
We don't have internet in our apartment so I am not sure how much I will be able to get on but I will write as often as possible. I'm at an internet cafe with one of my roommates. I think we're going to go find a bit to eat after this.

Also, I wanted to thank everyone for coming to my going away party. Thank you for all the wonderful notes and prayers to have a safe flight\trip. Thanks Mom, Dad and Sean for having the party for me.

getting ready to go

Hey everyone, I'm getting ready to leave for Florence, Italy to study abroad. I'll be living there for 5 months! I'm going to be using this blog to keep my family and friends updated on what I'm up to in Italy.
I can't believe it's coming up so soon. Everything is coming together. Last week I received my housing assignment! I'll be living in an apartment with 3 other girls. On the map it looks like we are a block away from the river and we have a beautiful church right next door built in the 1200s!
Well that's all for now. I still have a lot to do before I leave.
